On Wednesday, December 15, 2010, Emmy Award-winning CNBC reporter Daren Rovell will take viewers "Behind the Counter: The Untold Story of Franchising". CNBC promises to provide an all-access look at "the good, bad and unexpected side of franchising" in its one-hour documentary, which will air at 9 p.m. EST/PST. CNBC has previously turned the bright lights of the TV cameras on medical marijuana, cruise ships, and Ford Motor Company. Based on those programs and some advance reports, it sounds like we should expect a balanced look at franchising in America. Like the old NBC commercials used to say, "Behind the Counter" is must-see TV for those of us who follow the franchise industry, and I expect it will contain cautionary tales for both franchisors and franchisees.
